Good morning,
I have attempted to add an ORCID ID into a journal article entry using the Metadata Manager. It has appeared with the below error:
Although the author is registered on the ORCID database, as seen here:
I’ve also tried removing the “-” inbetween the digits, should this be the cause - however it does not work using this method either. Are you able to advise why this error is appearing and how I can resolve it?
Thanks in advance,
Best,
Katie

Hi Katie,
Many thanks for your email.
Could you try adding https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3921-5397 to the field please. It looks like the field requires the full ORCID iD URL for it to be accepted, I will add this to the improvements list though as both should be accepted in that section.
I hope this helps and if you have any further question or queries on this then please do not hesitate to contact us again.
Many thanks,

Thanks, Paul, that is a great help.
Once I have added further details or updated the records, do I need to save or also redeposit the content?
Thanks again for your assistance.
Best,
Katie

Hello Katie,
Many thanks for your reply.
Saving the content will just keep it ready for a redeposit, say if you had only filled in half the info and you were waiting for the other part. If it is ready to be deposited then I would do that.
This will overwrite anything that is stored against it currently so make sure everything is added to the record.
I hope this helps and if you have any further question or queries on this then please do not hesitate to contact us again.
Many thanks,
